Coping with Trauma: Strategies from the Quran and Sunnah
Date & Time:
12 Nov 2023 - 3:00PM - 5:00PM
Our community is experiencing intense anxiety, grief and trauma as we witness the horrific genocide of our Palestinian family in Gaza. Some members of the community have lost relatives. We feel helpless as the violence continues to escalate. We are carrying a lot of pain as the ummah cries out. There is violence, war, famine and destruction from natural disasters all over the Muslim world. Many of us are paralyzed in our grief. We are feeling many things - anger, sadness, fear, hopelessness, despair. We are struggling to find ways to help while also fulfilling our daily responsibilities at home, at work, in school.
On top of all this, we are also experiencing a huge rise in Islamophobia. Many people have been harassed for raising their voice and for just being visibly Muslim.
We invite you to gather together to talk about coping with the trauma we are collectively experiencing. We look forward to seeing you there. May Allah give us courage and hope.
